Awake

Alright I know it has been awhile so here is the run down. I need a new damn computer. I need to get up off my ass and get stuff done. 'nuff said.

I went and saw Jesus Christ Superstar at the Paramount last Sat. I really enjoyed it. Although I did annoy my husband by humming Cult of Personality for the first few minutes. Corey Glover was Judas.

I wasn't sure I really wanted to see this but Glover held my interest. He has such a powerful presence on the stage. And his voice was full of emotion and kept the whole theatre wanting the night to never end.

The scene with King Herod wearing a bathrobe and his ridiculous calypso singers had me trying hard to stay in my seat from all the laughter. I succeeded while many around me did not.

I have started my New Years resolution early this year. I conned my husband to pay for half of the elliptical I wanted. He finally put the thing together last night. I did the easiest workout on it this morning and now I am ready to die. I knew I was out of shape but damn.

Tonight I am heading out to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Yea me. The last movie I saw in the theatre was Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. It is wonderful having a child who I can trust to watch his siblings for short periods of time. I might get to go out more.

I did actually get some writing done this morning. I woke up at 3am and got some major work done on one of my stories.

Wake Up

I have been very sick the past few days. And I have been very busy as well. So there.

I have been writing but the comic seems to have taken a backseat to this quirky little story that has driven me mad the past week. I was trying to avoid it and finish the comic but the story seems persistent. It won.

I went site seeing in Seattle since I blogged here last. Having an out of town friend here has helped me get out and see what the city has to offer.

Someone Says

I drove down to the show. It was my first time in Portland and I had a great time. The show was small but still fun. I ran into Brian. I swear we are stalking each other. The only other explanation is we just like the same stuff. I got some stuff signed and even bought a few things.

I'll post a few photos once I get them loaded.

Paper Planes

I am off to Sea-Tac to pick up my friend Tony. He is flying in from Michigan. I just need to drop off my daughter Pam at school and then I get to drive in the rain. Yea.

As I thought I still have not finished my movie or gotten any writing done. Although I have gotten a lot of other stuff done. So I guess it's not all bad.

I may not get to watch my movie tonight. My lovely hubby is now telling me that he might have to work late tonight. I am just a little fed up with him so I'm gonna think about something else.

I have so much crap to do I really need to get off the computer. So I'll blog more later.

Anyone Can Play Guitar

I was watching Sabrina last night.

I didn't make it to the end of the movie. I was a little tired and I fell asleep. I am planning on watching the rest of this tomorrow while my oldest is at basketball practice.

I have been really enjoying Guitar Hero 3. I am really good at this game and have had trouble putting it down. So of course I haven't gotten any writing done in the past 2 days. Sorry.

I am sitting here waiting for my hubby to call so we can meet him for dinner.

In Bed

I am very very tired. I have been running around all day. I've been trying to get work done on my writing. I did get a little more dialoge done so yeah!

I have been talking to my friend Tony a lot this week. He is flying out this wen. from Michigan to spend a month with us. It should be a lot of fun. We have a few things planned so we will be a bit busy.

The kids are driving me a bit nuts right now. I am sending them to bed so I can go to bed. I am going to watch Sabrina. I am in the mood to relax. So a movie, a drink, my bed and I'll be a happy girl.

Well, I'm still hungry but I'm not as tired. Thank you Starbucks. I have know idea what is up today. I just can't seem to get full.

I still haven't gotten any writing done. Hopefully after I get the kids to sleep I can write for a little bit. I am going crazy. Just thought you'd all like to know.

I Drive Myself Crazy

Hi there. Well, I was able to get a little more done on my writing last night. It is moving along pretty good. I've got most of the dialogue done. Now, I just need to go back and fill in the rest. I call that progress. I am going to try and work some more today so I can finish up the mini comic. I really want to get some art done on this thing, but I need to take it one step at a time.

There was something I was going to do this weekend. But for the life of me I can't remember. I normally write things down so I don't forget. For some reason if I did write it down I lost it somewhere. I hope it wasn't something important. Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually.

Imagination (Is a Powerful Deceiver)

Aaron(9) a zombie. Pam(5) a zombie princess. Anthony(2) superman.

Ahh. Let the sugar rush begin. I bought nine bags of candy and I have four bags of candy left. Add to that the three pumpkin buckets overfilled with candy the kids got and my diet is screwed. I am trying to stay as far from the candy as possible(as I munch on a peanut butter cup). Yeah. This is not helping me.
I was not able to get any writing done last night. I was up and down all night until the kids made it home. Then I made Aaron pass out candy.
I am heading out to look for coffee. Not a hard quest when there is seriously a Starbucks on every other corner.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Strobelight

My hubby is taking the kids trick-or-treating tonight. Yea!!!! I get to stay home and hand out candy to all the little monsters. Since I am staying home I am also planning on working on my writing. I was trying to write earlier but instead I started drawing.

I found an old How-To-Draw book when I was cleaning up around my desk. So being that I am the princess of procrastination(I refuse be be Queen), I started drawing instead of writing. For it being the first thing I've drawn in a very long time, I am very proud of it.

I am thinking of dressing up to night just to amuse myself. Still not sure if I want to wear the costume I bought or get another one. I'll let you know later and maybe even post a few pictures.

Well That Was Easy

Not really but, OK. I am still trying to get my computer working right. I hate this thing sometimes. I swear the thing wants to make my life harder. I had to wipe the hard drive and now I am working on installing all the crap back on the damn thing. My writing folder is gone. I was smart enough to have backed it up.

I am planning on working on my silly little comic this week. Really I am. I have a friend who wants to do the art. He keeps dropping hints. It is kinda cute in an annoying sort of way. He is really good so I am hoping to get a few pages to him soon. I am thinking I might do a mini comic out of the beginning of what I have scripted. It just doesn't really fit with the story but I love it. So hopefully I'll have something to show here soon.

SexyBack

Wow. Let me say that again. WOW!!

I had an interesting morning. There I was being a good girl checking my e-mail and I get an IM from someone I had never heard of. He tells me I'm in his contact list but he has no clue who I am. He was wondering if I lived in Atlanta or South Carolina. I tell him no I live in Seattle but I did live in Alabama for a short time. Turns out we both lived in Tuscaloosa, AL. Then out of nowhere he asks me if I'm into bdsm. This caught me a bit by surprise. As it is not all that often I get asked this and not from someone I've never met before. After taking a moment to laugh. I answered honestly. Yeah. I am. We exchanged names and then he asked what I liked best. Again I laughed. It was way to early to be having a conversation like this but what the hell. I had nothing better to do. I told him I liked being the submissive, but if I'm in the right mood I have fun as the Dom as well. He laughed at this because he's the Dom and his wife is the submissive.

We chatted for about half an hour and even exchanged photos. Damn I almost wish I lived in South Carolina so I could get whipped. Sorry but there is no way I could put any of the photos we traded up here. I would get flagged so fast.

Anyway, that was how I started my day today. I was cyberwhipped by a guy across the country who I've never met before. I don't even have to leave my house to be bad.

I really needed rain boots. I walk my daughter to school every day and it is usually raining. So I went out and got rain boots. But I'm not normal when it comes to things I like. So I got these rain boots.

My husband hasn't seen them yet. And I'm willing to bet he will hate them. I will probably get a lecture about acting my age and being an adult. To which I will just stick out my tongue and skip away.

I hope it rains today so I can wear the boots on my walk. Now I just need to find a rain hat. Hmmm.

Make It Happen

It was a fun little show. I will be keeping an eye on them and watching how they grow. I got some comics while there and also some sketches. I did buy 1 sketchbook by Bruce Bogle.

I ran into Brian while I was there and he convinced me to buy The Originals by Dave Gibbons and Creature Tech by Doug TenNapel. He is sure that I'll love both of these books. I trust him when it comes to things I'll like. He hasn't been wrong yet.

Is it bad that my almost 6 year old daughter wanted this drawing? I wanted it too so I got it. Ben Hanson did this and a few others that I got today.

Let Me Go Home

I am headed off to a doctors appointment for Anthony( my baby). We need to go to downtown Seattle for his post-op exam. I hate driving in downtown Seattle. But I hate taking the bus with a cranky 2 year-old more. I know the doctor is going to take 2 minutes to look at him and then say he seems fine I'll see you in a month or two. I will have taken 2 hours out of my day for a visit that will last all of about 2 maybe 3 min.

I'll just have to stop off and get myself a nice latte. I deserve a nice little something.

No news on my comic today I honestly haven't had time. Yes I realize I could be working on it right now but were is the fun in that.

I am on schedule to go to Bell Con 2007 this Saturday. I am making it a family trip and in the process I'm blowing off a cub scout training thing I need to do. They have another one next month on the 11. But I'm wanting to go to the Portland Comic Show.

Dumb

OK I just got info on the friend who lost his leg.

In a drunken stupor (didn't I say I thought beer was involved) my friend decided to walk across the highway. He relied on a brain damaged drunk friend to tell him it was clear. Well, it wasn't! Pedestrian vs 55mph car! Another friends dad was on duty(he's a police officer) but it wasn't his precinct. He did however loan his camera to that department and have to talk to the EMS crew that handled it. He never heard the name and definitely couldn't recognize him in the picture. Well, the EMS told my friends dad that he was embedded in the windshield of the car and they didn't even know how to start peeling him off. His leg was twisted up, around, and over his head. He lost his leg. They had to amputate just below the knee. He is now a peg leg pirate, practically a childhood dream for him. Other than that, he seems to have no lasting trauma. (He's OK in the head, sort of) Unbelievable. None of the people at the scene, including my friends dad, thinks he should have been alive.

This explains why I haven't heard from my peg legged pirate friend in a year(this apparently happened early this year).

I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry.

The Trick Is to Keep Breathing

I've been gone for a while due to issues that concern my family. I'm still working through these and I hope to be fully back in a little while.

I have had a lot happen in a short amount of time and I am just now getting it together. So of course news comes today that a friend of mine lost his leg in a car accident. I'll post more when I get more info.

Let me give you a quick recap of the month I've had since my last post. Here it goes.....

My baby (OK, He's almost 3) had surgery last week, my husband and I are off and on so much my head hurts, my sister has been in and out of the hospital, my great nephew was hit by a car while riding his bike, a niece is missing , a best friend and her daughter have gone missing as well and then today I find out that a friend was hit by a car trying to run across the highway. Knowing my friend, I am thinking beer was involved somehow.

This is why I have gotten nothing done on my comic and why I've been gone.

I am seriously thinking of running away to someplace warm and sandy.

This is just a modern rock song

There was a lot of different things going on at the festival I'm not sure what to talk about.

There was the giraffe woman. She kinda scared me though. She just kept walking around the grounds. She was also making weird noises every once and a while. Let me tell you when you turn around and there she is a few feet away pointing her front hoof thing at you. It can make anyone jump back a little. I wasn't bothered by the outfit or even the stilts. I thought that was cool and took some skill to walk around in them. It was her bizarre facial expressions that bugged me. She had a very creepy smile most of the time and that just freaked me out.

Then there was the Verve Pipe. The whole reason I went to the festival. To say they were great would be an understatement. The show was a high energy explosion as usual even though it was hotter than hell. I got to talk with them after the show. Which was the highlight for me. They are still the best and friendliest group of guys you'll ever meet. Bonus they remembered me. Yea!! My daughter got her picture taken with her favorite singer ever. Brian VanderArk was very sweet with her as was everyone else. You can see more photos from the show at my flicker site.

We walked around a little more and listened to Toad the Wet Sprocket. The day was very energizing for me and I left that night in a great mood. So now I am working on my writing again. And yes I am still working on the comic. It has been a very busy weekend, but I needed it.

The Wild Ones

I had an amazing time yesterday at the Festival of the River. I am so glad I was persistent and demanded that we went. The rain stopped shortly after getting in the van and held off all day and night. It took me just under an hour to drive up to Arlington where the festival was being held. It was fairly easy to find though, they had marked it very well. Before the Verve Pipe show we wondered around the tent area. Dear god you need to bring a empty cart just for all the free stuff you get. If anyone is in need of a new water bottle let me know. I think we have like 10 of 'em. This stress reliever makes me laugh. I think I know that guy. I've got a couple of these as well.

UPDATE I was going through the bags of crap we got and realised that there were 5 different ones. So to be fair to all of them here you go. Side note, I can't decide which is my favorite.

And I was amazed that we were all lucky enough to see the Marijuana Fairy....
Yes that is marijuana leaves around her. I just kept wondering if anyone tried to smoke her?

I'll post more about the day including some great shots of the band later. Mommy stuff calls so I'm off to gymnastics.

Harmony in my head

I had a really great time last night. Whiskey sours, good music and a mechanical bull. What else do you need? I was a naughty girl though. I did drink a little too much. Honestly it wasn't my fault though. There was this really cute girl who kept refilling my glass with her Lynchburg lemonade. And well when a cute girl is trying so hard to get me drunk what else can I do but let her. I did get a nice little wiggle, some fun loving rubbing and a kiss. Oh well, being naughty is just to damn much fun anyway. And so is that bull. I did get her e-mail addy but not her name. Hmm. Oh well.

Not much to report on the comic today. I have been on the road most of the morning and we are supposed to be going up to Lake Stevens this afternoon for a BBQ. Although I am thinking that that plan isn't going to happen because Jaime is napping. Ahhh the advantage of never having a hangover. I love me sometimes.

I even have someone who really wants to do the art for me. Only problem is he is in Salt Lake, UT and I'm in Seattle, WA. Not a major problem with Internet and all.

I am a busy girl though. I am getting ready to go out with my husband tonight. We are heading down to Tacoma tonight to hang with some friends. It should be fun. The Sound would be fun but my notebook battery dies on me after about an hour. So I need a place that has an outlet. There is always Starbucks. There are a ton of those around here.

And the rambling begins...

Well I decided to start this blog to help with a writing project I am working on. I wanted a place to just have fun with my writing instead of stressing over it. Where this blog will go I have know clue. So sit back, grab a beer and enjoy the ride. The crazy girl is at the wheel and shes been locked up for too long.
